Office 2016 For Mac Is Out Now – Only For Office 365 Mac Users
Microsoft launched the final version of Office 2016 for Mac on July 9, available first for Office 365 subscribers. So, for those who have either an Office 365 Home, Personal, Business, Business Premium, E3, or ProPlus subscription, you can immediately install it from your account page (the rest of us will have to wait until sometime in September). The Office 2016 for Mac download includes new versions of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and OneNote, and is currently accessible in 139 countries and available in 16 languages. Microsoft has yet to announce a specific release date or pricing details.
New User Interface
Nearly five years since the last release, the Office 365 Mac download comes with some compelling new features. The Mac Ribbon aptly mirrors its Windows counterpart, with a customizable Quick Launch toolbar for improved cross-platform familiarity. Plus, the new software includes several highlights, including sandboxed apps, full-screen view, retina screen optimization, and multi-touch gestures, while cloud integration makes all Microsoft files accessible across multiple devices and platforms.
The Office 365 download for Mac’s Word 2016 is all about it’s sharing interface capabilities. It comes with a handy real-time collaboration feature for an improved multi-author experience. People working simultaneously in the same document, for example, can now share their comments in a threaded format next to the text they are editing. Word 2016 also lets you navigate through a document via search results, headings, and page thumbnails.
A great welcome addition to Excel is that it now can suggest the best charts most appropriate for generating a visual representation of data. The spreadsheet software also gets PivotTable Slicers, helping users filter large amounts of data in a pivottable report. What’s more, Excel 2016 can recognize most Windows keyboard shortcuts.
PowerPoint 2016 for Mac features an improved Presenter View, making it easier to know what’s coming next during your presentation. The innovative PowerPoint 2016 allows users to see the current slide, next slide, speaker notes, and a timer, while your audience can only see the current slide. There’s also a new animation pane for creating and modifying animations, as well as new slide transitions.
The updated Outlook for Mac (released last October) is designed to work with the new Office apps. This rewrite is gratifyingly modern and comes with a number of handy options, including push mail support, an enhanced conversation view, and the capability to see multiple calendars side-by-side.
Office 365 on your Mac will help ensure you get straight down to work regardless of where you are or what type of device you are using.
